Overview

Accountability for compliance with regulatory agencies, development of safety training materials and presentations, and delivery of training programs, loss control and investigation of accident, injury, and property damage. Assuring that a culture of safety and standards is grown and maintained.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Perform project in-field audits to monitor and assure compliance with company safety policies
  • Monitor and assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Perform operational training program delivery
  • Assist with planning and implementing company safety and operational training
  • Assist Divisional Supervision with Job Start up activities and provide JHA as needed
  • Assist in claims investigation activities
  • Assist with the facilitation of “Return to Work” programs and assignments                         
  • Assist with development of training/orientation programs and materials for company personnel
  • Additional tasks as directed by Safety Manager

 

Meetings

  • Assist with monthly company-wide safety meetings and other safety-related meetings
  • Assist site personnel with daily safety meetings
  • Assist with the Company’s Annual Safety Training

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years construction specific safety experience
  • MSHA/OSHA knowledge and/or certification
  • OSHA 500 certification
  • ATF regulatory knowledge
  • DOT regulatory knowledge
  • Experience coordinating the administration of safety training programs and safety metrics
  • Training and education in safety/construction & mining/training
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Computer literacy/spreadsheet knowledge
  • Public Speaking experience and solid presentation capabilities
  • Self-starter with hands-on experience
  • Out of town/overnight travel required

 

     Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs 15% of the time
  • Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments

 

  • Stooping and bending 15% of the timePosition has responsibility for supporting Company safety and assisting with safety training requirements. Accordingly the incumbent must be proficient in safety management, and public relations.
