  • Overview

    The individual in this position will provide Senior Leadership to the company from the areas of project engineering, estimating, risk assessment, contract administration, project engineering and project management. Works closely with the Operations Manager to balance project needs and support towards the efficient and profitable production of projects won and shares profit and loss accountability. This is to include business development and claims management. This position may be located in Auburn, NH or Gardiner, ME.


    Typical Duties

    • Provide leadership for Divisional Managers, Superintendents and Engineering project teams.
    • Manage the Engineering Department and relative training for the company
    • Assist in sales and estimating as necessary
    • Identify risk factors that may impact profit objectives
    • Conduct pre-construction meetings with Divisional Managers for scope, production schedules and resource needs
    • Review Estimating schedules for engineering and proposal needs
    • Review Construction and Contract schedules for projects starting
    • Coordinate the timely administration of all change orders, contract risks or claims
    • Review key projects performance budget vs. actual on a monthly basis with the           

                      Divisional Manager

    • Direct the strategic planning and position of the companies job estimating, contracting and engineering functions
    • Actively seeks better ways to propose and bid on work to minimize risk and maximize profitability
    • Assist in the development and implementation of company safety programs
    • Assist Operational and Divisional Management where and when needed
    • Assist in development and maintenance of Strategic Business Plan



    • Participate in monthly Executive Committee and Business Operations meetings
    • Assist in monthly Foreman’s meetings as necessary
    • Participate in job programming and setup meetings as needed



    • Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year engineering degree or equivalent, plus 10-15 years experience in a Project Engineering position of similar type construction
    • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of drilling and blasting construction (technology, equipment, methods)
    • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required
    • Proven track record of successful turn around capabilities (Leadership Skills)Comments
